Dan 1:1-6  - 1)  In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it.  ... 3)  And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring in certain of the children of Israel, even of the seed royal and of the nobles; 4)  youths in whom was no blemish, but well-favored, and skilful in all wisdom, ... 5)  And the king appointed for them a daily portion of the king's dainties, and of the wine which he drank, and that they should be nourished three years,  that at the end thereof they should stand before the king. 6)  Now among these were, of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.

Jer 25:1  In the 4th year that Jehoiakim was king of Judah,

which was the first year that Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylonia, the Lord told me to speak to the people of Judah and Jerusalem.

Dan 2:1  In the second year of the rule of Nebuchadnezzar, (and the 5th year of Jehoiakim) Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; and his spirit was troubled and his sleep went from him.  ----- DREAM of the STATUE.
From the 3th year of Jehoiakim, to the 5th year = 2 years  (exclusive)  3 to 4, and 4 to 5.

But according to the Bible 3 years, (inclusive). the 3rd, 4th and 5th.  A period of 3 years.

2Ki 18:9-10  - The 4th year of  Hezekiah (7th of  Hoshea)... siege of Samaria.
"After 3 years... the 6th year of Hezekiah (9th of Hoshea)  Samaria captured."

From the 4th year of Hezekiah, to the 6th year = 2 years  (exclusive)  4 to 5, and 5 to 6.

But according to the Bible 3 years, (inclusive). the 4th, 5th and 6th.  A period concerning 3 years.
- however we would rather think of 2 years (from 4 to 5, and 5 to 6 ).

The death of Jesus.  The Bible says that Jesus was 3 days in the grave. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. A period of 3 days, however, from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning very early, makes not even 2 days.
For the Jews, from Friday noon to Friday evening - from Friday evening to Saturday evening - and from Saturday evening to Sunday morning - >> considered as 3 days.  - Depends on  >>  Inclusive or Exclusive.

According to Daniel 1:1, King Nebuchadnezzar besieged Jerusalem in the 3rd year of Jehoiakim, while Jeremiah 25:1 says the first year of king Nebuchadnezzar was in the 4th year of Jehoiakim.

Therefore, Nebuchadnezzar could not be king during the 3rd year of Jehoiakim.

History (ABC5) mentions that Nebuchadnezzar defeated Assyrians and Egyptians in the battle of Carchemish ... when Nebuchadnezzar was still Prince and during the last year of his father Nabopolassar.

Jerusalem was besieged after this battle (ABC5), the earliest in the accession year of Nebuchadnezzar as king.

Daniel was during this siege captured to Babylon and that was in the 4th year of Jehoiakim and not the 3rd year.

Is Daniel mistaken?
